Risk Factors Include:

  • High blood pressure
  • Cigarette Smoking
  • Diabetes
  • Carotid artery disease
  • Abdominal aortic aneurysm
  • Peripheral artery disease
  • Age (men over 45; women over 55)
  • HDL (healthy cholesterol less than 50 in women; less than 40 in men)
  • Family history of premature coronary heart disease
    (Less than 55 in first degree male relative; Less than 65 in first degree female relative)
  • Almost half of all coronary events occur in people without traditional risk factors!

  • Heart Print EKG - recommended for any adult
    Another name for an electrocardiograph or EKG. Heart rhythm and other abnormalities can be detected with this quick and easy test. The Heart Print is read by a board certified cardiologist and kept on file in the Cost: $15. Call (937) 395-8492 to schedule or Request a Screening!

  • Heart Calcium Scan - recommended for 2 or more risk factors
    A calcium scoring screening exam uses a CT scan to detect calcium deposits in coronary arteries BEFORE symptoms develop. The calcium score indicates plaque burden and risk for future cardiac events. (recommended for men between the ages of 40 and 70, and women between the ages of 50 and 70). Cost: $99. These assessments are only available on selected dates and locations:

  • Heart Screen 1 - Basic - recommended for any adult
    A snapshot of current cholesterol levels (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglyceride), blood sugar, blood pressure and other risk factors for heart disease. Plus a heart disease prevention consult. Research shows modifying these risk factors can prevent coronary heart disease. Call (937) 558-3988 to schedule or Request a Screening!
    Cost: $24 beginning July 2011.

  • Advanced Heart Screen - recommended for 2 or more risk factors
    A team of health professionals evaluates your individualized risk for heart disease with advanced measures.

    Visit # 1 Your Evaluation Includes:
    Non-Invasive Heart Calcium CT Scan, Lipids, Glucose, Glycemic Average
    (Hgb a1c), Blood Pressure, Body Mass Index and Artery Inflammation
    score (hs CRP test). PLAC test (Lp-PLA 2) optional ($35).

    Visit # 2 Education and consultation sessions with the prevention center
    team to review your results, risk score and a prevention plan best
    suited to reduce your risk. Our team includes a cardiac registered

  • Heart Screen 2 (Stroke Prevention Scan) - recommended for 2 or more risk factors
    Ultrasound exams detect plaque AND thickness of the carotid (neck) artery wall plus blockages in leg arteries (PAD), often silent markers of heart disease. Call (937) 558-3988 to schedule or Request a Screening!. 3 exams and education consult. $119.

  • Healthy Hearts for Women - These screenings are designed to increase awareness of heart disease in women and assess cardiovascular risk status.
